How do I know if coaching is right for me?

Coaching is recommended for individuals who want to improve or change specific areas of their lives or maybe frustrated by a lack of direction and focus in achieving their full potential.

There are many coaching areas but most commonly can be categorised as:

On average, how long does a coach work with an individual?

The length of coaching mostly depends on your needs, goals, and preferences. For certain types of goal-based coaching, 3 to 6 months of working with a coach may be effective. For other types of coaching, you may find it beneficial to work with a coach for a longer period.

What can I expect from a coaching session?

A coaching session usually ranges from 1 – 2 hours depending on the topic and structure we have agreed upon. I make sure each session benefits you as a stand along session and that our time together is maximised. “Intensives” and longer sessions are available for specific situations. Please feel free to ask me for more information.

What’s the difference between life coaching and Career Coaching?

Life Coaching is focused on your personal effectiveness, influence, and development, working typically on areas like increasing your confidence, working to achieve your personal goals and objectives. Career Coaching is focused on your development and effectiveness within the context of your career and work-life.

Do you offer coaching by phone, video calls, as well as in person?

Yes. I work with clients around the world and from different time zones and most of my work is done remotely by phone and video calls. Occasionally a specific issue that a client is facing needs to be solved and meeting in-person is the best solution.

What does coaching ask of an individual?

To get the best out of coaching, I ask certain things of the individual, such as:

  • Focus on one’s self, the tough conversations, the hard truths, and one’s outcomes.
  • Listen to one’s intuition, assumptions, judgments, and to the way one presents themselves
  • Challenge existing attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors and develop new ones that serve one’s goals in a superior way
  • Leverage personal strengths and overcome limitations to develop a winning style
  • Take decisive actions, however uncomfortable and in spite of personal insecurities, to reach for the extraordinary
  • Commit to not take one’s self so seriously, using humor to lighten and brighten any situation

What About Confidentiality?

  • Everything we discuss is 100% confidential and unless you tell someone that we are working together (or give me your express permission to do so) no one will know that we have spoken. I fully understand the value of your trust, and take every precaution to safeguard it.
